Keihiro Kanyama is a Japanese film director, screenwriter and producer whose work explores the fragile distance between people: what they fail to say, what they choose to hear, and the gestures through which care survives.
His feature debut, seesaw (2010), which he wrote, directed and produced, won the SKIP CITY AWARD 2010 and screened at eleven international festivals, including Viennale, the Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema and the Hawaii International Film Festival. He was also selected for Tokyo FILMeX's Next Masters program, mentored by Hou Hsiao-hsien.
His short Paramedic was selected for the Sapporo International Short Film Festival competition. Somewhere In My Memory received the JAPAN CUTS Award at the Osaka Asian Film Festival and was nominated for the International Competition at the Busan International Short Film Festival.
After moving to Okawa, Fukuoka, in 2015, he worked in regional revitalization and established OKAWOOD Inc. in 2017. Alongside film and commercial production, he ran a coworking space and guesthouse for eight years. He returned to Osaka in 2025 and continues to develop feature and short films while leading a corporate video production team.
